The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association is deeply concerned with the Provincial Government’s intention to pass today Bill 33, Supporting Children and Students Act.  In light of the troubling decision not to hold public committee hearings, our Association and others have been denied the opportunity to provide input and put forward much needed amendments.

We continue to stand ready to provide feedback and in the absence of such opportunity will carefully monitor the implementation of Bill 33 and any regulations flowing from it to ensure they fully respect the constitutional and denominational rights of Catholic school boards. — Michael Bellmore, OCSTA President
