We are pleased to announce that on May 3rd, during Catholic Education Week, our system will once again celebrate Ontario Catholic Student Youth Day (OCSYD). Over the last several years our provincial student trustee leadership team has taken on the task of planning an engaging and interactive event to inform and inspire Catholic youth in our system. Below (and attached to this memo) is the program outlining the sessions planned for the 2023 Ontario Catholic Student Youth Day Seminar.
Please note that this will be a virtual seminar hosted on OCSTA’s Zoom platform and offered at no cost to CDSB students. This event will start at 9:30 a.m. and will close with the Catholic Education Week Provincial Mass, celebrated by His Grace Francis Leo, Archbishop of Toronto. The celebration of the Eucharist will be presented via live-stream from St. Michael’s Cathedral.
Following is the link to view the Provincial Mass live-stream from St. Michael’s Cathedral: https://www.stmichaelscathedral.com/live/. A separate Zoom link for the OCSYD Seminar will be sent to registered board contacts prior to the event.
Students in grades 7 -12 at Ontario’s Catholic school boards can register for this event by contacting their local Catholic school board.
Registration deadline is Monday, May 1st.
Students who attend this special event will be receiving an OCSTA certificate of appreciation for their attendance and participation.
