Each year, the Catholic Church in Canada dedicates a week to celebrating the gift of the family and to renewing our commitment to promoting life. This year, National Family and Life Week (NFLW) will take place from 10 May to 17 May 2026. The theme “I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20) is drawn from the Gospel Reading of Sunday, 17 May 2026, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, which concludes the National Family and Life Week. Christ’s words in this passage offer comfort, inspire hope, and give meaning to our common mission to share the Gospel of Life.

“As we celebrate National Family and Life Week, may we model ourselves on the Holy Family, finding consolation and hope through prayer and the Sacraments,  remembering that we are never truly alone, for God is with us always “to the end of the age.”
