Online Resources re: Opening of the 2021-22 School Year
As announced on August 17, 2021, the Government of Ontario will implement an immunization disclosure policy for all publicly-funded school board employees, staff in private schools and licensed child care settings and other individuals regularly in these settings, for the 2021-22 school year. See the Ministry of Health’s updated COVID-19 Guidance: School Case, Outbreak and Contact Management.
Regular rapid antigen testing requirements will be in place for staff who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Individuals who do not intend to be vaccinated, without a documented medical reason, will be required to participate in an educational session about the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination.
The goverment notes that the publications School Board Implementation Resource: Data Collection & Reporting and 2021-22 COVID-19 Vaccination Attestation Summary are intended to provide early guidance to inform implementation planning, and in particular, to support the establishment of any necessary data collection and reporting processes.

Though we had hoped to be able to offer in-person meetings, in the best interest of members, this year’s fall regional meetings will be hosted virtually on the Zoom live videoconferencing platform. Details for registering for these sessions were outlined in a memo that was distributed to all trustees this summer. If you did not receive that memo or have questions, please contact Connie Araujo-De Melo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For this meeting all Boards are asked to identify and prepare an overview of 3 or 4 issues of priority/challenge, and one point of celebration to be delivered at the meeting by the Chair or designate.
Thank you for your continued service and commitment to Catholic education and we look forward to welcoming all members to this year’s Regional Meetings.
