Students Presented with Spirit of Enterprise Award
Niagara Catholic is proud to announce that three students were recognized with the Gene Luczkiw Spirit of Enterprise Award during the Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in March. Congratulations to Rachel Lauder, a student at Notre Dame College School in Welland, Rachel Malevich, a student at Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School in Grimsby, and Brody Longmuir, a student at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in St. Catharines for receiving this award for their excellence in education and commitment to community service. They each exemplify the very best of Catholic education and are excellent examples of servant-leadership.
Students Bound for VEX World Robotics Competition in Califorina
Niagara Catholic is pleased to announce that the combined VEX robotics team from Assumption and St. Alfred Catholic Elementary Schools will travel to the World VEX Robotics Championship in Anaheim, California, in late April. Congratulations to the students for their hard work and diligence and to the staff and parents who supported them throughout the season.
Lakeshore Catholic Graduate Wins Juno Award
Dan General, known to his fans as DJ Shub, is a graduate of Lakeshore Catholic High School in Port Colborne and a member of A Tribe Called Red, which won Breakout Artist of the Year at the 2014 Juno Awards on March 30th in Winnipeg.
A Tribe Called Red fuses electronic dance music, dubstep and traditional Aboriginal drumming and chanting.
