It is a tradition at the Toronto Catholic DSB to hold the board’s Annual Awards Night at the start of Catholic Education Week. While the awards could not be held in person this year, the winners were announced and acknowledged in a virtual format.
The TCDSB Alumni Award was presented this year to Calgary Flame Captain Marc Giordano and his wife Lauren.

Mark Giordano is a graduate of St. Simon Catholic Schools and Chaminade College and was recognized for his outstanding career as the Calgary Flames Captain and significant service to his community in Calgary.
Marc’s wife Lauren was also recognized for her extensive community involvment and long-term commitment to establishing various initiatives to support high needs students in schools at the Calgary Board of Education. Lauren Giordano is a graduate of St. Conrad Catholic School and Madonna CSS.
