“Today the provincial and federal governments have announced additional investments to support school reopening plans and the Ministry of Education has released a new management guide for boards to support safer schools. We appreciate these additional resources that will support Catholic school boards in their commitment to do all they can to ensure the health, safety and well-being of students and staff as they reopen their schools.

During the pandemic, Catholic school boards have made every effort to respond in a timely and effective way to the numerous and complex challenging issues that have arisen. The province’s newly released COVID-19 Management Plan for school boards is a welcomed added resource that will assist boards in their commitment to make schools as safe as possible.

Informed by the needs and feedback of our Catholic school communities, our dedicated trustees and school board staff across the province have worked tirelessly since March to plan a school reopening in the best interest of students, teachers and other staff. This injection of additional funding and the new COVID-19 Management Plan are appreciated as we all work together to welcome our students back to school.”
