TORONTO—April 17, 2023—“The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association will carefully review all aspects of the draft legislation from the lens of: improving student learning and faith formation, protection of denominational/constitutional rights and the important role of locally elected Catholic School Trustees.
We are pleased to see included in the draft legislation acknowledgement of the need to respect denominational rights and the requirement to consult in important areas.
We will be inviting the input of our member Catholic school boards and will fully participate in any and all consultations throughout and following the passing of the legislation.”
