 OCSTA Ratifies OCEW Central Agreement

MEDIA RELEASE

 TORONTO, January 26, 2023  —The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association is pleased to announce the ratification of the tentative agreement that was reached with the Ontario Council of Education Workers (OCEW) and the Council of Trustees’ Associations on December 10, 2022.

 “The agreement reached reflects the committed efforts of all involved to ensure the well-being of students and the dedicated members of OCEW who serve in Catholic Schools throughout Ontario,” said OCSTA President, Patrick Daly.

 OCEW is composed of: 

  1. COPE Ontario
  2. Essex and Kent Counties Skilled Trades Council
  3. Labourers’ International Union of North America
  4. Maintenance and Construction Skilled Trades Council
  5. Ontario Public Service Employees Union
  6. Unifor

 OCSTA continues central negotiations with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association and other unions representing education workers in Catholic school boards.

The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association is the provincial voice for Catholic education. Founded in 1930, OCSTA represents all English Catholic school boards and collectively educates 545,000 students in Ontario, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.
