OCSTA is pleased to announce that OCSTA director and former Association president, Patrick J. Daly, Chair of the Hamilton-Wentworth CDSB, has been honoured by His Holiness, Pope Francis. Trustee Daly has been specially selected to receive The Honour of Knight of St. Gregory the Great for his distinguished services to the Church.
“Although humbled by the honor I am pleased to accept it on behalf of my family and the many wonderful people who have influenced me on my journey,” said Trustee Daly.
This Honour will be presented by His Eminence, Gerald Cyprien Cardinal LaCroix, Archbishop of Quebec and Primate of Canada, during the 11 a.m. celebration of Sunday Mass on the Solemnity of Christ the King, November 23, 2014, at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, in Hamilton.
As a former president of OCSTA, Trustee Daly played a pivotal role in protecting and advancing the interests of Catholic education. His successful leadership in the effort to obtain equity in education funding for all students in Ontario, is an achievement that has benefited generations of students in Ontario.
