On May 2, Staff and students at St. Patrick Catholic School in Kapuskasing (Northeastern Catholic District School Board) did their part to “get loud” about mental health and as part of their efforts to eliminate the stigma of mental illness while also learning about the variety of aspects that make up wellness.

Students and staff participated in 6 hands-on workshops ranging in topics that included:

  • mindfulness
  • acts of kindness
  • yoga, breathing and relaxation
  • the medicine wheel
  • the importance of staying active, well-hydrated and making good food choices.

The board would like to thank their dynamic healthy schools team and community partners who delivered insightful presentations. The presentations helped the school community to envision what healthy schools look like and commit to realizing that vision.
