St. Bernards Catholic School in Orillia

  • Spring Food Drive Act of Mercy
  • Living Rosary outside, weather permitting, the school community is invited to join us to  say the rosary in French and English
  • morning liturgy on Tuesday, May 3
  • Mass Thursday, May 5

St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie

  • Cardinal Collins celebrating the Province Wide Mass on May 3

St. Peters Catholic Secondary School in Barrie

  • All of our prayers for the week will centre on the daily themes for Catholic Education Week and will also tie in with Mental Health week.
  • We will provide some insight/information on the importance of having a dream, enough sleep, healthy eating, moving/keeping active, thinking clearly and performance as guides for nurturing our mental health.
  • There will be information about the benefits of nurturing your spiritual health to help your mental health.
  • This semester’s religion teachers were sent the Secondary Package for Catholic Education Week. Some teachers will be using the chapel for the guided meditation provided in the package as well as highlighting activities in it during their class times.

Our Lady of Grace Catholic School in Angus

  • Our Grade 7/8 students will prepare and present a Liturgy to open Catholic Education

Week. This will be done in two sittings

  • Attend province wide Mass at JOA
  • Dont Judge Day Created by our Grade 8 class in conjunction with STACD (Start talking about coping and drugs through CMHA). They have organized an activity day to help kids recognize the value of respecting people for what is on the inside. Students from Grade 48 will participate in student lead activities.
  • OLG Community Night/Open House: It will involve several components
  1. Talent Show : A chance to show that God gave all of us gifts and asks us to share our gifts with others. Auditions were held and the final cast has been set. It involves students in Gr. 18. There will be two showings (11:45am and 5:30pm)
  1. Art Gallery : Our prep teacher Mr. Frusthuk has been focusing on water colours in Art classes for Gr. 38. Students are putting finishing touches on their projects which will be on display throughout the main floor for parent viewing. Primary teachers will be creating art projects focused on the daily themes for Catholic Education Week.
  1. Community Agencies accessed through the Compass Committee will be setting up in our front hall to present information about programming and services to our community

St. Theresas Catholic Secondary School in Midland

  • We are having Liturgies every morning in the Chapel (run by students).
  • We have prayers created by students for the morning announcements.
  • We have a class creating doors (works of art) that we can put up in the foyer.

These doors may have names for whom students would like to pray for, or people or places they feel needs the most mercy (not sure yet)

  • We are also doing some health and wellness activities at lunch and in the morning to promote understanding of the health and wellness issues that affect our school and how the idea of mercy comes into play
