An Announcement from the Dufferin-Peel CDSB:
St. Joseph’s Secondary School presents an original musical,
WAITING FOR GOD
Tuesday, June 26 at the Panasonic Theatre, 651 Yonge St., Toronto
The highly anticipated musical, written and directed by Seamus Kelleher with musical direction and original song by Paul Lamarche, is sure to inspire and entertain. The engaging story line and powerful messages make this show a must see.
After losing the love of her life to cancer, Mary is heartbroken, depressed and begins to question her faith. As she passes by the bus stop where she first met her love, she decides to sit and wait for God to appear and give her an explanation.
Various characters enter, many looking to fill a void in their own lives, and all are curious if God will arrive. Topics of life, death and religion are discussed and all agree that the world can be a mean place. Nevertheless, the human spirit is strong and inspires them all to dream on.
This musical is not necessarily a show about Religion, Death or God. It is simply about recognizing the beauty, the talent and the unique qualities in the people around us, in the people that we often take for granted. Live music, incredible singers and heart pounding mash-ups, make this show one for the ages. Don’t miss this inspiring story of hope.
