Celebrating the next generation of Catholic School Students at Sudbury Catholic DSB

On June 10th, Sudbury Catholic staff who had a baby (or grand-baby) born in 2009 were invited to the Catholic Education Centre to celebrate together as a community.

There were beautiful babies everywhere and the new moms, dads, grandparents and siblings enjoyed each other's company while board office staff provided some helping hands in order for guests to enjoy prayer and lunch together.

The first annual Sudbury Catholic Baby Day was a huge success and everyone in attendance were thrilled to have the opportunity to get to know the "graduating class of 2027".

Catherine McCullough, Director of Education came up with the idea earlier in the year and thought it would be a great way for staff to celebrate each other and their families.

"It was evident today that everybody in attendance at our Baby Day really enjoyed themselves," McCullough said.  "Staff, parents and grandparents had the opportunity to relax, socialize and all of the board office staff helpers couldn't get enough of the babies!"

The event was so successful that plans are already underway for next year's baby day event.

Great idea Catherine! What a wonderful way for school board staff
to meet with one another - it also provides an opportunity for the
younger staff members to mingle with the "older" staff members and
exchange ideas on how to cope with the busy life of working and
and parenting.
