Bernard Murray Acclaimed as President of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association

Toronto, April 25, 2006—The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA) is pleased to announce that Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board trustee, Bernard Murray, has been acclaimed as President of OCSTA at the Annual General Meeting held on April 21, 2006.
Bernard Murray has served as Vice President for the Association for the past two years. He started his career in Orangeville as a secondary school teacher and later became a full time farmer. A Catholic school trustee with the Huron Perth board since 1985, Bernard is committed to working with the government and partners in education to enhance learning opportunities and outcomes for students in Ontario.
OCSTA delegates also acclaimed Sudbury Catholic District School Board trustee and chair, Paula Peroni to the position of Vice President. Former OCSTA President, Paul C. Whitehead, continues to serve the Association as Past President.
The Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association is the provincial voice for Catholic education. Founded in 1930, OCSTA represents Catholic school boards that collectively educate more than 600,000 students in Ontario, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.
